I just came across this great book on the Body_Work Yahoo Group:

http://www.twbookmark.com/books/51/0446524174/index.htmlThe Invisible Touch, Harry Beckwith

This book seems to be very relevant for MTs, because he emphasises the importance of interacting with the customer you are delivering the service to. A good point, actually. So all of your marketing efforts will effectively come to nothing if you can't show your clients that you care for them, and if you are unprofessional.

I've recently wondered whether my future income has been hurt by my "unprofessionalism" with case studies. Although I was always friendly, I was sometimes rushed, and not always fully prepared (i.e. wearing the correct gear, had my massage table sorted, etc.). I didn't treat the case studies like paying clients. Given that I will have another set to do soon, that will change - I've been thinking about conducting those case studies up as if I already were in business.

(Brief background: studying to be a Swedish massage and aromatherapist, want to work part-time, massage income to supplement income from research jobs)
