So I've almost signed up for another round of psychotherapy. I'll meet with the therapist next week to see whether we get along and can work together. This variant of psychotherapy is called Core Process Psychotherapy. It's based on the very Buddhist assumption that at the core, you are a perfect, enlightened being. However, due to past life experiences, you may be more or less far from that core. The therapist is your guide and companion on your journey back to the centre. Sounds good. If I like the style of therapy, I might even get some training in it - just the foundation year, though. I like the emphasis on being present without judgement, full of love and compassion. It sounds like just what I need for a successful bodywork practice.
In other news, I've just discovered that I've taken on too much. From now on, no more jobs. I now work:
- one day a week in Edinburgh until the end of August
- three days a week for the delayed Newcastle project, that is until the end of September
I also have several hourly jobs:
- 88 hours to work on a new project analysing some of the Newcastle data, hopefully to be finished by August.
- 21 hours left to work on a grant proposal
- 480 hours potential work on a project until the end of December
- project management for a database management company (natural language database interfaces) - starting up slowly, due to heat up in August and September
Finally, there's the little matter of setting up the massage business properly.
It's doable as long as I prioritise well.
Expect some more job-related explorations and musings in this journal in the near future ...
Who is not surprised that I am not taking any holidays this summer?
Instead, there'll be little islands of time off - like a weekend in York chez
dandelionsummer, and hopefully a little jaunt in September along the time of our wedding anniversary. A week off sounds good ... either on the Orkney Islands or on one of the Scottish Islands. I'm thinking an island that can be reached from Oban, such as Coll or Tiree. Or maybe Mull again ...
