So your task for today is to tell me what's cool about you. I want you to tell me something, anything about yourself that you're proud of - I'm fed up of people talking themselves down - tell me something you've done or something about yourself that you think is worth liking. Please post your reply in your own journal

Right, what's cool about me is that I'm very open and tolerant, and am getting more tolerant as I grow older. I'm willing to change and learn and grow and not take myself too seriously in the process. I'm proud of being my own woman, of a happy marriage, and of getting my Ph.D. by age 26 (exam date).

Status report: I'm grieving our decision not to go for assisted conception. It's a big step that I'm reasonably happy with - I just need some time to fully come to terms with the decision we made: that we will prioritise having a child over having a biological child.

But that's OK. I need to grieve now, and then I can start trying to heal the fibroid. I'm still skeptical about using my own Reiki skills on me - I somehow don't believe it will work. But it's my best chance.

Good luck with adoption. And you may well concieve a biological child anyway. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. It's probably one of those decisions where you'd have some regrets either way, so regrets certainly don't mean you've made the wrong decision.

I wish you strength through all the assessment procedures etc.

I think you made the right decision. Read this article and tell me if you don't feel a little bit better. I know it's unlikely that Edinburgh Royal Infirmary are involved in this, but I, like your husband, am a bit freaked out by IVF.

Well, even if you don't believe in Reiki, you might believe in prayer. :) I will start praying for all of you to be healed, not just your fibroid.
