A baby girl - that's fantastic news. Even though I'm not too sure about the name. Both me and DH are conservatives in the name department. But it sure sounds nice ...

I love the name! Of course, I've got a cousin who named her son Brecken (because he was conceived in Breckenridge, Colorado), a middle school friend named Shaida, and a friend whose daughter is named Sheridan Rose (for Sheridan, Wyoming). So I'm down with odd names.

yeah i wassurprised by the name too. i wodner if they have ashorter versiion for ittio call ehr by. I'm sure there are fans who treat it lke the revelation of anew book title. and i've seen the echo ofa' oh the poor girl, to live with aname liek that' kidnof commetn already. *sigh* let'ssee if people will look for clues in it. :)

Mackenzie is becoming quite common as a first name I think. DOn't know why. But it is a surmane really.

So much for that theory :) But who knows, maybe his mother was a Miss Mackenzie?? It's certainly a Scottish first name, and it's popular for girls now. I'm just surprised JKR didn't pick a more traditional name, given than her other kids are Jessica and David.
