Oh those employers ...
Dec. 12th, 2005 06:39 pmAs some of you may remember, for nine months, I was working two jobs, one at University A and one at University B. At University A, I went from contract to contract, and as I was switched around, they made a mistake and paid me my salary twice. For two full months. I alerted them to their mistake, it was sorted out, and I handed a cheque covering the amount they'd overpaid, which amounts to £2110, to Payroll. In person.
Today, I get a letter thanking me for alerting them to the fact that they overpaid me and would I care to phone them to discuss how the money could be paid back.
I've now sent them a polite e-mail asking what the f**k they did with that cheque. I'm not paying them any more money unless they've traced it.
That same letter also tells me that they got my tax code wrong, so I'll be getting a windfall of a couple hundred quid this December.
