... my husband just told me that he hadn't yet booked his time off for THE Holiday. The eagerly awaited, longed-for holiday. The holiday I'd planned everything around.
The holiday I won't be able to afford without him, because it'll coincide with the end of a month on a salary of zilch.

Now, I'm hoping he'll be able to get at least one of those two weeks off.

If not, I'm screwed, and I will have no holiday this year. (If I'm at home, I'll work.)
