We have walking!

She keeps taking a couple of unsupported steps at a time - you go girl! Funny, but this time I don't feel "where's my baby gone"; the crucial point for me came when she was crawling. Like annearchy's Maya, my girl is very tall for her age, so it seems that she's now finally catching up with the Joneses.

How tall is your daughter? I think Maya was something like 30 inches tall (or maybe even 31 or 32) at a year old. She was 36 inches tall on her second birthday. Now at 10 she's 61 1/2 inches tall. She's passed up her shrimpy mum ;)

When she decides to actually WALK (ie more than a few steps), it will probably be very sudden. You'll see a couple of steps and then, one day in the near future, she'll suddenly manage to cross a whole room. :D

What 'finally'? She's only a year old. She's just exactly the right age for all this. :)

Thanks to my daughter, I have no idea how to judge the ages of other children. A kid who appears to be 2 or 3 might actually be a small 6-year-old :( That's what I get for having a BIIIIG kid.

31 inches! Wow... tall girl. Sam is, admittadly, very small for his age, but he's 11 months and only 26 inches tall.
