job matters

percivalHad a chat with my parents about my desire to leave the company I work for. It was all very nice and rational, and I was able to hear their misgivings.
Such a long commute! Why leave a secure job? Why not apply for a job in Germany? We told you this job would leave you unfulfilled!
(Yes, lots of time for reading. Because it is not secure, it is stultifying, and I am not getting any qualifications there. Because the German exonomy is in the dumps and Thomas has a good job. But I really liked the experience of working in industry; it's made me reappraise academia and I'm very pleased that I now know to what extent linguistic research is pertinent to industrical applications.)
But in the end, I managed to get the admission that they trusted me to do what was best
*pats parents on the back*
Now let's just keep our fingers crossed that a) I get the new job and b) the money they offer me only forces me to take a 20% pay cut, not a 25% or 30% one.
