a goodbye - sort of
Sep. 25th, 2003 08:18 pmEver since I started my LJ, I've been pretty good with posting regularly - except when on holiday or away on business. I've also tried to read the whole of my friends page and keep up with everybody.
This was partly possible because I could sneak in a sum total of one hour of LJ at WORX - often more.
This habit has to stop. First, because I'm doing more interesting work now, secondly, because I really feel bad for my company - they should get some more quality hours from me. They really need my work, but they don't have much of a clue about
a) the amount of work that needs to be done until the end of the year
b) how they will schedule it
c) who will do it
I keep pointing things out to them and helping them with their planning, but I effectively shoot myself in the foot with this, because I am too nice, too helpful, too forthcoming.
Ah well, all that remains to be done is to work cheerfully and efficiently ...
From now on, I will probably update & check LJ 3-4 times a week. I will be behind with journals, and not comment as much as I used to. I will keep up the Linguistics filter - I'm busy preparing the post with all the pointers, but first, I need to finish The Overdue Really Interesting Report From Hell.

Date: 2003-09-25 12:58 pm (UTC)Well, we'll miss you, m'dear - as you say, though, you'll still be around...
I hope work manages to conclude neatly for you, and that the move to pastures new goes well.

Date: 2003-09-26 06:16 am (UTC)Seriously, some days I stopped myself from even turning on the computer and I was so pleased at how much I got accomplished during the evenings. I miss everyone here but it's a give and take.
Speaking of linguistics... guess what language class I just signed up for?? :-))) (The hint is in the subject)
