So, the solution to the meme:

I once stayed home from a dinner I'd been invited to, because I was too scared and upset to go out.

Two of you thought that this was false. It's true, I'm afraid. I'm notorious for chickening out of social activities such as pub nights
or nights out with the girls.

I finished my Ph.D. in three years.

HAH! Six did not believe this. To cite [livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi: Ye of little faith. I started in December 1997, handed it in on September 25, 2000,
it was marked in October 2000, and my oral examinations finished on November 8, 2000.

I have a statue of the Buddha in my flat.

False. I do not. In fact, I don't have any statues or ceramics, apart from the sweet dragons [livejournal.com profile] pinkfluffyllama gave me.
[livejournal.com profile] piperx (my twin, of course) and [livejournal.com profile] violaswamp. Congratulations!

I was a scholar of the German National Scholarship Foundation.

Two did not believe this. Well, 1993-1998, folks.

I lost my school friends and university friends because I was too self-absorbed.

Too true. I lost all my penpals, my two best friends (my only friends!) from high school and my best friend
from uni because I stopped staying in touch. Stuff like being too busy to visit a friend in hospital even though I was only working then minutes
on foot away. Granted, I only vaguely heard that she was there, but still, I should have verified the rumor. Ever wondered how come that I managed the Ph.D. in three years? That's how. My LJ is part of a resolution to turn myself around. Touched to see that it seems to be working, because nine of you thought that this was the lie.

As for the massage assignments: I shall take heed and create a massage filter.

As for NaNoWriMo: Fourteen potential readers, wow! (And one honest answer. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] dan4th *g*) Well, looks like I'll set up a new journal for that one, then. If you answered "yes", you might be friended by a mysterious entity called [livejournal.com profile] perceval_writes.

Ha! I finally guessed one of these right! I thought the Buddha thing was just the sort of thing one would expect of you, and therefore most likely to be a lie.

Good reasoning! :)

I was so certain that you had a Buddha in your flat. Ack, ack, ack.

Want to know the sad thing about this? I said the Buddha thing was true and I have been to your apartment! Well...I think you are fabulous and not self absorbed at all. :)

Whoohooo!!! *does a little dance*

Of course you don't have a Buddha statue! As if you could fit it anywhere between all the books! (Am I right or am I right?) ;-)

I guessed the last one--maybe I've just been very blessed and lucky to have friends who are understanding enough to know that I love them and think about them all the time--even when I am too anxious, depressed or disorganized to keep directly in touch.

Why don't you have a Buddha statue? *I* have a Buddha statue, and I'm not even a Buddhist! Buddhas are cool!

*wants Kali statue too*
