Recommendations for UK Internet Providers, please?

... if possible, with URL and contact e-mail. Because the people I'm with, PCHost4u, just lost three days' worth of my e-mail. From last Thursday afternoon up until Sunday evening. Apparently, a rogue e-mail corrupted their backup from Sunday, so that these mails are irretrievable now. They were very helpful, but sadly, there was nothing they could do.

This just can't happen when I set up my own business. I've been contacting case studies, I might have received important work e-mail.

Also, the admin server they use works via a port that's blocked by quite a few corporate Internet proxys, including the one at work. This is also not acceptable, given that currently WORX is my main Internet access point, and I need to be able to do the odd bit of adminning from WORX.

Alternatives?

I'm with Demon. No problems with them except that the help line costs money. I hear good things about Blue Yonder too.

My website (and elenarda email) is hosted with www.lunarpages.com and they're fantastic. Would wholeheartedly recommend them. Give me a yell if you want to have a peek at the control panel and the database set up and I can let you wander around a bit in there.

For the Autism community we host with www.Godsweb.co.uk who have got to be the friendliest host in the world. Again, very good reliability, but slightly more expensive than Lunarpages.

We're sticking with both hosts for the foreseeable future and we're happy with them for the websites.

My internet connection is with AOL - who, despite all the jokes about them, are the most reliable service we've ever had (and we've been with quite a few over the years, including BT) There's webspace there as well but I never use it!

We're with NTL and they've been great.
