Phew - I'd forgotten that unis pay at the end of the month. Imagine my shock when I saw the healthy state of my bank account today - that was my last salary from Newcastle. I nearly had a heart attack and thought I would have to pay back huge amounts of money, but slowfox and a good look at past bank statements calmed me down. It pays off that I've reduced my mortgage repayments to near zilch - this way I can start attacking that nasty credit card far sooner than I thought, plus I will have some back up for November, when my only income will be from casual work. It also brings into stark relief that a contract which starts in December will actually bring the first INCOME at the END of the month. So the reprieve is only temporary.

Speaking of casual work - I'm sitting here in the sunshine and have ZERO motivation. Of the 6 hours I wanted to have worked up until now, I have done maybe 3. 4 more today, and 2 more tomorrow, plus 2-3 hours "consultancy" on Monday = 12 billable hours. We're getting there. I've decided that I'm not going to label the Swedish data I have, given that I have no text for them, and I don't know the sequence in which they were recorded. I can make educated guesses, sure, but that's not enough. So we'll leave it at that ...

it has been wet, cloudy and freezing all day. Or is the weather usually different between Princes Street and my uni to you part of Edinburgh
