I'm going to miss my first massage customer, because I STUPIDLY and BLINDLY got a teaching job without checking my diary. 4 hours, £60, but still a VERY BAD start to this. It's as if I'm sabotaging myself. The massage time should be sacred, time that nothing else can touch. Yet I'm constantly failing to follow up on things, failing to send out copies of my certifications, opening my business bank account, notifying the Inland Revenue. Is it because I don't want this or is it because I feel that there's some sort of prohibition? Especially after the recent altercation with my parents ...

Yes, it's unfortunate that it should turn out this way for your first patient(? massee? customer?), but don't dwell on that.

Don't read too much into it. It's only your first customer and you're still getting used to your schedule. If this saboteurish behavior becomes a pattern over time, then I would say that some analysis into your feelings and motives would be warranted.

Still, it must be disappointing.

I know how you feel on the following-up-on-things front. I have a whole set of thesis-related things to do, and I keep failing to do them, even though I know I'll feel much better when they're done.
