Today, I got a letter from my Fertility consultant with roughly the following content:

"The registrar you saw in early October didn't say anything in your notes whether you wanted to go for NHS IVF or private IVF. If you are paying, you can get a procedure done in six months, if not, in two to three years. We append our price list."

Gosh, 2 - 3 years is a long time to wait. But, you're not that old. Cheer up, it could be worse, you could be here in the US and the only option would be "private IVF", which would massively expensive.

But, my sister had IVF done here, in her late 30s, and now she has three IVF children... a girl, and then twins (boy and girl). Her hands are full.

Here, I'd pay roughly 3000 pounds per cycle ... it's still expensive, and I wonder whether it'd be worth it, what with the fibroids.
