It is relatively hot (for Scotland), I am procrastinating on a project that I need to finish analyses for (related to a previous employer of mine), and our daughter has chicken pox (a mild case). I'm constantly tired.

Bah.

Oh dear. Do they not have the vaccine there, or was she too young for it? I hope it remains mild, and things improve soon!

We have an appointment to have her vaccinated on July 12. In general, they don't give the vaccine, and the baby has to be 11 months to get it. She doesn't seem to be suffering too much, though ...

The CP vaccine is one of those that isn't exactly giving a lot of protection.

If R has a mild case of it now anyway is there anypoint in getting her vaccinated and doing the same thing having it has.....
Although saying that the fact she has a mild case could mean she gets it again.

OH! I'm sorry about the chicken pox. That's nasty, especially for a baby R's age. How are you keeping her from scratching? I had chicken pox when I was 5. My mother wrapped my hands in gauze (or maybe mittens) to keep me from scratching.

not the truth. Can get it again as shingles when she is older.

Shingles is quite different, though, and chicken pox does affect you more the older you are when you get it. It's more dangerous, and you are laid low for much longer.

I would have preferred the vaccine form, but she seems to be coping well. Phew.

:( I hope it cools down, your daughter gets better, and that *you* get some much needed R&R soon.
