I want to get writing regularly (30 minutes a work day) to help me write the papers and grants I have to write for work. As far as I can see, procrastination's the main thing that keeps me from writing. I was going to take a course at work to help me with that, but it turns out that the course is run by a journalist who knows relatively little about academic writing, not an experienced academic writer who knows how to write for peers.

So I thought about setting up a LJ community or YahooGroup where people can check in every week with progress reports. This would be a community for people who are keen on writing little and often, no matter what they are working on, be it fiction or non-fiction or intermediate categories such as research grants. Any takers?

This could be a good thing for me as well - I'm just starting a new project...

Well, I already do this.

Progress reports? Do they, themselves, count?

I'd really be up for a Yahoo group, especially one specifically for female academics.

I'm not so sure about a LJ community as not as many people use LJ.
