just a quickie ...
Jan. 24th, 2003 04:40 pmI saw a programme on TV recently about weight loss. Slimmers of the Year. Quite depressing - most of them put on the weight again, because food was their way of dealing with upsetting events. Only a permanent change of eating habits worked. I found the same holds true for myself - I only lose weight when I fundamentally change something about what I eat. Right now, it's excluding sugar, wheat, yeast and dairy, making do without comfort foods (except for porridge).
In that spirit, BBC Good Food, a v. realistic and down-to-earth British cookery mag, has a special booklet about superhealthy food. If anybody is interested and willing to give out his/her snail mail, I can mail them a copy. Alternatively, I can type in recipes I found useful. The Good Food recipes are usually all test-cooked a number of times, and so relatively foolproof.
