Ok, very quick summary by percival and helen:


Spoilers:

- the DADA teacher will be neither Fleur nor Arabella Figg
- we will learn more about Snape
- she sort of denied Snape/Lily
- people are getting close to the main "point" of the book
- we will learn why Voldemort was after Harry's parents
- we will get lots and lots of backstory


about her writing:
- she never had a deadline
- she worked on an adult novel before embarking on OotP
- she would like to follow up Harry with adult stuff
- Book 7 will be long not because it has to be, but because she doesn't want to let go ...

Book 4 almost drove her to despair. That's when she was depressed and wanted to break her arm. She'd been working on the books continuously, starting COS the afternoon she finished PS/SS, starting POA the day after finishing COS, and starting GOF *during* POA. She had writer's block for 5 weeks during COS. But OOTP was a positively docile book to write.

She also does veto a lot of merchandise.

Actually, she said that were she to kill Harry off at the end of Book 7, that would put a stop to all the merchandise. She also asked Paxman, when he questioned her about post-Hogwarts novels, whether he was sure Harry would survive. Folks, I think she's playing games with us.

See, she goes online, to check what people have to say, whether she's being found out. A couple of people are getting really close, and if one of them does get it, she'll be so p***ed off.

She sounds like she enjoys the ship wars, btw.

Now I totally see her reading over DT and laughing her head off. But I imagine that seeing people analyzing one's work in that manner can be entertaining :D
