brief update
Aug. 27th, 2003 11:38 amSome people on my friends list have had some exposure to German. They will surely appreciate this article by Mark Twain.
In other news, I've been fawning over a new baby girl (colleague's daughter) and
have reached an interesting stage in the infertility saga: I strongly believe I will never get
pregnant. This belief depresses me slightly on one hand, on the other hand, I'm now throwing myself
into my patchwork career, as
sourcebook called it - where having a baby would be difficult.
I also subvert my attempts at getting pregnant by having
sugar and coffee. Part of me is saying "What the hell - this will never work - I might as well have fun!"
Oh, and I might be teaching sociolinguistics this term. Keep your fingers crossed for me ... I will post
a summary of my lectures here. You seem to be sufficiently interested :)

I had a bazillion people tell me "once you give up and relax, it'll probably happen" which is the fastest way to keep you *not* relaxing. :-P Ignore anything anyone tells you.
Finding something you enjoy, in the meantime, is a Good Thing. :)
