It's official, I'm mad. I'm going to Texas, George Bush International Airport, on December 31. I'll leave again for Edinburgh on January 8. In between, I hope to see quite a bit of
angua9,
queenriley,
swampfaye, and
bucketgirl while I'm down there. Hopefully, I will also be able to clap a beady eye on
themorningstarr. ARRRR!
Any other Quillers who'd fancy to meet in Texas?

My massage courses are fantabulous. The massage teachers are very chilled. The aromatherapy teacher is a no-nonsense woman, very spiritual, very into posture, very into proper nutrition and looking after yourself. She takes "holistic" very seriously. The Swedish massage teacher is incredibly laid back and dry; he gives very little instruction and correction, but his demonstrations are powerful, and he teaches massage sequences that include Shiatsu points. the theory instruction is so-so - we're just getting a handle on the text books, but most of it has to be done during directed study, which is checked in assessments. For Massage Therapy, we need to learn not only Anatomy and Physiology, but also (new) Business Studies. ITEC, the body that will examine us, has revised their curriculum. Our book is good, a no-nonsense list of all you need to know when you set up in business.

Date: 2003-10-07 08:07 am (UTC)*sigh* I know I need to take the "holistic" thing more seriously. I have begun thinking of food as medicine, actually. And I know I need to improve my posture. I hyper-extend my lower back when I sit...it becomes excruciating after a while. I have a feeling weight loss will improve this condition.
I'm glad your massage courses are doing well. *hugs*

Date: 2003-10-07 08:26 am (UTC)my wife leads a Christian meditation class at the Episcopal (Anglican) Church we attend; you are invited to attend. I could take you around to sit with the various Buddhist sanghas.
