weekend update
Nov. 23rd, 2003 09:20 pmWell, I had a rather lazy weekend. Apart from doing some work on a project I started to collaborate on in 1999. I thought I'd finished my part of the work in early 2002, but then, in mid-2003, the people I worked with started looking at the data I'd given them and finding all sorts of problems, some of which were due to bugs in scripts that I wrote during the all-nighters I worked in order to get this stuff finished. By now, the software I originally used does not work anymore, and I've all the stuff at my old WORX. So I did some more conversion work for them, but I've now decided to let them sort out the remainder themselves. After this weekend, I can't really devote more time to this project - especially since I now need to harness all my energies into working on the project proposal due on December 10. This was purely a research collaboration, and I can't have this dragging on forever. Sigh. They are my bugs, granted, but they could have CHEXed sooner.
No apologies for enjoying this weekend. I had a Shiatsu massage on Saturday morning. Did not get rid fo the latent tension headache I was harboring, but realigned me with my center, and for the whole day, I walked straighter. I'm going to have the next on Monday, December 15. Basically, Shiatsu looks at the energy flows in your body and makes sure that your life energy flows smoothly. The therapist knows about my infertility concerns. She'll work on the lower back and abdomen with me, also on my legs. She will also support me in taking every day as it comes, with highs and lows. Interestingly enough, she's encouraging me to let the grief out when it comes, intense as it may be. Just to go with the flow.
Then, I mailed a certain parcel, went looking at furniture with my husband, and returned home to read up on User Interfaces and take a bath.
Today, I did said conversion work, caught up with my friends, and then went off with my husband to snap up some decorating books (at 5 and 3 pounds a pop),
a Lonely Planet Texas guide book, and some stuff for friends who I might be visiting soon. Then went to see Finding Nemo (awww) and Monsters' Inc. I must say that even though Nemo was visually stunning (The Water!), I preferred Monster's Inc. So funny, so many ideas!
