And I'd add a post just saying 'hello, this is what we're about, reply if you want to be added'. That can be the only non-friended post there, so random people who come across the journal and are interested will more easily be able to join. :)

Good point, but I'll probably do that at a later stage, when we've been established for a little while. I'm a bit scared of the community becoming too big too quickly ...
