The Great Edinburgh Movie Summit

OK, this is very selfish of me. But then, you know that I am a selfish buggre, don't you?

See, my massage exam is on June 5 and June 6. And POA is released ... on June 4. Which means that unless there is a summit in Edinburgh, I shall be unable to attend a movie summit.

The logical choice:

Let's meet in Edinburgh!

Great city, great culture, great nature, many funky cinemas. A Warner Village dating from 2002 slap bang in the middle of town. And a spare attic bedroom with loads of space. And free massages.

Plus: you'd prevent me from cramming the night before the exam!

Which is always a Good Thing.

especially given that there is a direct flight from Glasgow to Keflavik. From Glasgow, it's just under 2 hours to Edinburgh on cheap busses (total of less than £12 return)

I want to! I want to! I really really do. But I'm going broke after the Iceland trip. And I must say, it's a bit close to my daughter's birthday to be traveling. June 8th... can't miss that. Not for the world. The only thing that will keep me from being there for one of her birthdays is death. Literally.

Of course I'll be there! I'll only be 60, still young enough. ;)

Birthdays are a big deal. I make them a big deal, partly because my mom did that for me when I was little. And my dad missed a lot of them due to work. I hated that he wasn't there. So I will ALWAYS be there for her birthday. Always. Even when she's turning 50 and I'm 70, I don't care. I'll be there.

:( Oh, man. Why can't I just come to the UK for the summer? Because I have to take a course in June/July. Dang. And me with such great memories of the sound in the Glasgow Odeon. Tell me, does Edinburgh have anything to compare? (I might as well torture myself while I'm about it.)

The Warner Village DOES have great sound. But don't worry, when you're back in Britain, we can go see it - it's bound to be still on. Also, if we're going for a preview, we might make it a May weekend ...
