... the computer will be dismantled tomorrow. On my list are:

- wipe kitchen floor
- hoover hallway

My husband keeps reassuring me that everything is fine and gleaming; everybody who has seen the flat so far has applauded our renovation skills. I have polished furniture and wiped the bathroom floor as well as select areas of the kitchen with antibacterial floor wipes. The bathroom is CLEAN.
The living room and the small boxroom are definitely DONE.

The kitchen is nearing cleanness, but will be much more sparkling once the last remaining bits and pieces that are ours are gone and I can FINALLY wipe the worksurface clean and wipe the floor.

Was getting so paranoid that I neatly folded Landlady's bedlinen and stowed it in the divan, whose drawers I had previously wiped with anti dust wipes.

(No, we did not wash any of her stuff that we did not use. That goes for both the mingy dishes and the aged bedlinen).

You're making me feel like I have to go home and clean house. No more!! :) See you on the other side of the move.

Ach, I'm never that clean for myself. It's just the deposit that's motivating me. Actually, I was getting quite depressed re the state our flat was in because I would not spend a couple of hours each week doing housewifely stuff. Must really start doing that.

Last Night Ever in the flat, then?

I, too, feel slightly guilty when reading all of these cleaning reports of yours. In my defence, I would like to point out that there are patches where you can see the carpet at my place... on a good day.

Anyway, it sounds like you've gone way, way above and beyond the call of duty in sorting out the flat (although I concur that deposits can provide excellent motivation in such situations): so well done on the cleaning, and enjoy the new place!

Hooray! Three cheers for homeownership and a fresh start!

(When I moved out of my last apartment, the only thing motivating me to clean was the deposit. And this was in the hottest October on record. While I love to cook, I don't find "housewifely stuff" very absorbing either. Welcome to the club.)

You're making me feel guilty on the cleaning front too!

So one phase of life ends, and another begins...
