THANX for all your lovely welcome messages :)

We're in Idaho Falls right now, in the public library. The trip so far has been great,
starting with a lovely dinner with [livejournal.com profile] dr_c in Seattle. The first postcards have been written and will be sent shortly.

We are both very impressed with the landscape and the friendliness of the people. So far, we've visited Mt. Rainier, Mt.St. Helens, the Oregon Coast, the Columbia River and driven through Idaho. West Yellowstone and Yellowstone Park is next.

I managed to stay below my $200 limit chez Powells (v. good), buying mostly Buddhist and infertility related books (sigh), and have also been buying history books. We've followed Lewis & Clark and the Oregon Trail so far; now in Yellowstone, it's nature time.

Next update from chez [livejournal.com profile] piper_x, I'm now in the same time zone as her.

Sorry for the briefness of this update, but I've only got 30 mins on this computer.

Idaho Falls ... wow. This post brought back so many memories of when I lived in Jackson Hole. *sighs* Idaho Falls was the nearest "big" town to Jackson and as such I'd end up there about once a month to pick something up. Driving over the Teton Pass could be an adventure, especially in the middle of winter! *sighs again* Sometimes I really miss that area so much.

Hope you love Yellowstone as much as I do! Have fun! I wish you could see Jackson Hole, it's so pretty. But Yellowstone is too ... say hi to Old Faithful for me. :)

*hugs*
