The company my husband works for has decided to cut 1000 jobs - a seventh of its work force - in Edinburgh.

We will probably know in September whether he will be among the people to be made redundant.

This means tightening our belts.

thanks! depending on how things evolve, this also means that fertilitywise, we are probably going to go for the free IVF instead of the costly adoption ... at least initially

plus I am SCARED of the paperwork. I really am.

IVF is free??? Goodness you're lucky. It's very expensive here.

As for the paperwork - well, it's not fun. And when you first see it, it's intimidating. But when you start breaking it down, it's not really so bad. A hassle but not frightening. We're getting ours tomorrow, though - so we'll see if I still think that! lol

You can have one go at it if you've been trying for more than three years. Some people think that National Health Service resources should be used on more important things, but there you go ...
