... I'd like to go to the States, something that will be difficult with a baby, but extremely feasible now.

We'd be very much swimming against the stream, what with the current mood in Europe. Now, I only have to persuade my husband, who's not too enamoured with the U.S. of A. But I hope some pics of beautiful countryside will be enough. I will also need to remind him that the States are a very large and diverse country where every single state has quite different characteristics. (True?)

We'd be focussing on the North-West, because of the temperatures (low) and the scenery (beautiful). (Personally, I like it hot, but my husband feels cooked when the temperatures rise much above 20 Celsius. He's also a country type, not a city type.) Ah yes, and because of the pleas of Lonely of Montana. You know who you are.

We'll see. Maybe Iceland will win out in the end. Wish me luck!

EDITED to say:

Happy Birthday Frankie!!!!!!!!!!

*pouncehugs and glomps*

May God be with you during the next year of your life.

Hrm. If you were to go in June, and wanted outdoors things to do, I'd recommend my area, actually. I realise that I'm biased, but really, it's stunning, and summer is fantastic. June is usually perfect--it gets too hot in August.

(My hometown, but there're lots of other places to go. Canada, too. If you want to do outdoorsy things, Pukaswa is fantabulous)

It's all outdoors. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful--and some of the most pristine woods in the USA. Plus, we're right on the second biggest freshwater lake in the world. (And we even have Cornish pasties. Hee.)

Honestly, as I said, though I'm biased, the area is one of the United States' hidden treasures.
